Yesterday was rare disease day. I am honored to work with several, in my practice.

One thing practitioners need to remember is, when a disease is said to impact 3% of the population, keep in mind, you’re not seeing “the population.” Most of the population are healthy and not experiencing symptoms. You’re seeing a small % already, So it makes sense that a higher % might actually be suffering from these rare diseases.

Dismissing them because a disease is said to be rare helps no one.

One of the most important tools you need when facing a chronic health issue is the ability to advocate confidently for yourself. To Drs, Therapists, Loved Ones, and in your Career.
