This CAT 6040 hydraulic shovel added fire suppression back in 2023. The AFEX Fire Suppression System installation helps protect one of the mining industry's hardest-working production machines. from the constant fire risks associated with hydraulic systems, diesel fuel, electrical components, and high operating temperatures.

There are only about 200 currently in operation. With an operating weight just below 100,000 lbs it is no surprise you do not see this everyday. This massive machine's bucket is rated for 44 ton (88,000 lbs) and features dual CAT C32B engines.
