Our family worked with Don McLean to design our dream home in five points, Raleigh during the spring/summer of 2016. Out of all the contractors we have dealt with in the past, Don and his team stood out in so many ways. Most importantly, Don listened to ALL of our suggestions, and comments during the project. He spent countless trips to the paint store with us. Met us at flooring and home improvement stores all over the triangle. Too many times to count. Many days we asked Don for changes and compromises that resulted in some of the finest craftsmanship we have seen in a home. His willingness to listen and incorporate our wish lists within a given budget was incredible. Some parts of the project really stood out. The framing, dry wall, trim, and floor work is by far the best I have seen in any new build or remodel. The brick work done on the exterior accent walls, outdoor porch areas, and fireplace can be compared to actual works of art. His landscape team went above and beyond as well, making sure every detail was completed. Don and his team faced so many unique challenges during the build including extreme periods of rain, relentless neighborhood distractions, changes we made to finishes, etc. yet he was still able to navigate these and complete the build in a reasonable amount of time. The finished product speaks volumes to his work. The house is truly a work of art, and we couldn’t have asked for a better contractor to work with.
