Congratulations, Beth Morgan! Our Wake County 4-H Volunteer Hall of Fame inductee in 2026.
Beth has been an extraordinary and committed volunteer for many, many years. We in Wake County and North Carolina are indebted to you for your dedication to the youth of the 4-H Horse Program. Your tireless passion for excellence and appreciation of hard work has allowed many young people to excel and raise to the top in study habits and competitions. We were so proud to see Emmy Creek introduce you on this day as one of your 4-Hers you mentored to become the National 4-H Hippology Champion.

Here is a little about the amazing Beth Morgan:

Beth Morgan’s lifelong dedication to North Carolina 4-H began in Edgecombe County, where she grew up as an active and enthusiastic 4-H member. Although she participated in several project areas, horses quickly became her passion after first discovering a love for them in the third grade — a passion that continues to shape her life today.
As a youth participant, Beth was excited to discover the equine science competitions horse bowl and hippology where she competed both on the state and national levels. She had no idea at the time that her over the top enthusiasm for these contests would keep her involved for the many years to come.
Beth credits her 4-H experience with providing the leadership, communication, and teamwork skills that have guided her throughout her life. Her commitment to the organization did not end with her years as a 4-H’er. For more than 40 years, Beth has continued serving the North Carolina 4-H Horse Program as an extraordinary volunteer leader, mentor, and coach.
Her involvement with the Wake County 4-H Horse Program began in the early 2000’s, where she served as a volunteer— and later president — of the Wake County 4-H Horse Council. Over the years, Beth has coached countless youth in Hippology, Horse Bowl, and Horse Judging at the district, state, regional, and national levels. Her teams have achieved numerous championships and top honors, earning Beth the affectionate title of the “Queen of Hippology.” Known for her depth of knowledge, patience, and unwavering encouragement, Beth has devoted countless hours to teaching and mentoring young people both in person and through virtual instruction.
Beth’s contributions to North Carolina 4-H have been recognized through numerous honors, including the Wake County 4-H Horse Leader of the Year Award, and the NC 4-H Horse Program Outstanding Alumni Award. In 2025, she was presented with the Candace Norman Service award in recognition of her decades of dedicated service and lasting impact on youth across the state.
Beth has a wonderful husband, Brandon, and three adult children who grew up in the horse program as well. In 2019, she and Brandon moved to a farm on Kerr Lake in Southern Virginia where she is finally living out her lifelong dream to see horses out of every window in the house!
Even though she no longer lives in North Carolina, she remains deeply involved in the Wake County and North Carolina 4-H Horse Programs. Quietly humble and never seeking recognition, Beth is admired for her hardworking spirit, kindness, patience, and remarkable ability to bring out the best in others. Her influence has shaped generations of 4-H youth, creating an environment where learning, respect, confidence, and excellence thrive.

North Carolina 4-H is officially joining the AHS Department at NC State—bringing youth programs, research and Extension even closer together.

This transition strengthens connections between campus and communities, creating more opportunities for young people and building clearer pathways from 4-H to college, careers and leadership across North Carolina.
