Yesterday morning, we were grateful to have a group of Wake County EMS retirees come share breakfast with the Academy! It was a great time of celebration for our 50th anniversary!

The retirees shared some of their stories from when we first started!! And the Academy got to hear about lessons others have already learned, so they can use that information in their own practice moving forward!

Thank you to those who came to celebrate with us and share your stories! We are so grateful to have such a strong foundation and a history we can be proud of!

Happy EMS Week! Today's theme is Save-a-Life (CPR & Stop the Bleed). Here at Wake County EMS, we are passionate about preparing our citizens to help in an emergency before first responders arrive. We teach Hands-Only CPR and Stop the Bleed across the County.

We go into the community and teach both of those classes for free! We also give presentations to groups on requested topics, such as a special presentation for seniors that has been created from the most requested topics from that population.

We firmly believe that everyone should know how to perform CPR, use an AED, and stop a major bleed. Those three skills would save so many lives!

If you're an instructor in these types of classes, keep it up! Thank you to all of our EMS providers in the County who put this knowledge into practice daily, saving the lives of our Wake County residents and guests.
