This video became a huge hit with Caniac Nation and around the back in 2001-2002 season. I was told by someone at the NHL summer meetings that it was the “best hockey commercial they had seen in years.” Of course, as a spoof of the basketball ads at the time, it was meant to entertain and it might have been an early sign that the ‘bunch of jerks’ would arrive along with the rise of hockey and all things hockey becoming engrained in the culture of North Carolina.
