I was born and raised in Westbury, New York. As far back as my junior year in high school I wanted to become an optometrist. After three years of undergraduate work in college, I was accepted into the Pacific University, College of Optometry. I received a strong background there in what could be described as behavioral optometry. Simply put, this emphasizes how what you do (for example digital screen time) affects your vision and how your vision influences how efficient you are at performing various tasks such as learning, sports performance, work performance and more relevant today, gaming and E-Sports.

I have been practicing optometry for thirty-eight years in Southern California and have been building my practice over the last thirty years in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. I am more excited than ever. I am fortunate to have a great staff and a wonderful patient clientele. We have made a significant difference in many of our patients' lives, some of who are described in the book.

Finally, I am really passionate about the area of E-Sports as the visual demands of viewing and performing on a digital device are great and there is a lot that we could do, optometrically, to improve the performance of these participants and gamers.
