🎢A little behind-the-scenes Liberty Live love! 🎢

The countdown is on! You may notice these bright orange banners throughout the community helping spread the word that Liberty Live is just around the corner!

This year’s Liberty Live design was created by GRCDO Board member Garshet Holmes, bringing another fresh and vibrant look to our summer concert series. And a special thank you to Norita Phillips, who helps make sure the banners get ordered, placed, and seen throughout the community.πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ§‘

We’re grateful for all of our board members who continue to give their time, energy, and talents to help bring Liberty Live to life. From the big-picture planning to the behind-the-scenes details, their dedication reflects what makes this event so special β€” it's truly a community effort.

We can’t wait to kick off the 2026 Liberty Live Summer Concert Series in just under two weeks with the soulful, high-energy sounds of Joi Carter on Friday, June 26!

We hope you’ll join us for an evening of live music, food trucks, local businesses & artisans, community connection, and celebration along the Liberty Road corridor. Bring your family, invite your neighbors, and come celebrate the sounds, spirit, and pride of the Liberty Road corridor and surrounding communities! grcdo.org/liberty-live

We are thrilled to share some exciting news about our GRCDO Board Member Donovan Murphy, who has been named a Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards Woodlawn Honoree.πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎ

As featured in BMORENews.com, Donovan’s story is an inspiring one – from his roots in St. Catherine, Jamaica to building seven Island Quisine restaurants across Greater Baltimore. What stands out most is not just his success as an entrepreneur, but how consistently he shows up for people and community.

We’re especially grateful to have him on the board of the Greater Randallstown Community Development Organization, where he brings that same community-first mindset into our work and leadership that he demonstrates in every part of his professional and community life.

We’re proud to have leaders like Donovan at GRCDO, and even prouder to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.πŸ’šπŸ’™

Congratulations, Donovan!

Last Thursday, GRCDO Executive Director Brianna Dorsey and several Board members joined more than 130 business owners, professionals, and community leaders at the Baltimore County Spring Mega Networking Event, hosted by the
Northwest Chamber of Commerce and eight partner chambers.

Building stronger communities starts with building stronger relationships. As we work to strengthen the Liberty Road corridor, support local businesses, and attract new investment, opportunities like this help us connect with people and organizations who share a commitment to creating thriving communities.

We’re excited to bring fresh ideas, new partnerships, and more resources back to the community as we continue working to create a thriving business district and a stronger, more vibrant future for all who live, work, and invest here.πŸ’šπŸ’™

to a meaningful day along the Liberty Road corridor. ❀️

A few weeks ago, GRCDO Executive Director Brianna Dorsey joined several board members for a day spent visiting businesses, seeing facade improvements in person, and connecting with community members about the future of the corridor.

One especially meaningful stop included a visit with board member Shirley Supik at the historic Emmart Pierpoint Safe House, built in 1791. Shirley and her husband Jeff purchased the home from descendants of the original Emmart family, whose ancestors Caleb and Susannah Emmart helped guide freedom seekers to safety through the Underground Railroad.

Standing between Brianna and Shirley is a hand-painted symbol (by Shirley) connected to the home’s history -- a mark believed to have signaled safety to those seeking freedom.

Days like this remind us that revitalization is about more than buildings. It’s about people, history, connection, and community.

We’ll be sharing more photos from the day soon, including some of the exciting improvements happening along the corridor.

Communities are where our stories begin. πŸ’šπŸ’™
