I feel that unfortunately I have to address the decision I made over a year ago. We DO NOT accept Discover or American Express credit or debit cards because their fees are ridiculous. It is clearly posted that we do not accept these cards, but that we do accept Visa and Master Card and cash. Visa and Master Card purchases must be at least $10. I feel that this policy is extremely reasonable. As a small business we must take credit and debit card fees into consideration...they are a huge expense for us. I have spoken with Discover and am working on getting a lower fee for that card, hopefully we can come to an agreement. American Express will not be an option for our business.
To the customer who decided to get quite rude yesterday because we wouldn't accept her Discover card, I'm sorry, but these card companies force these decisions to be made. For the good of our business, I choose not to support companies that charge unreasonable fees.
