A Little About the Classroom

The Montessori environment typically has five main areas in the classroom. In each area, because I move with the children at their pace, I carefully select work and activities that fit the educational needs and skill level of each of my students.
Don’t be surprised when your preschooler comes for their first day and there are only a few items on each shelf. I promise, there will be plenty to learn and do! As lessons are given and mastery achieved, more and more items and lessons will be brought into the classroom.
In addition to the five areas listed below, I will also be providing time for art, music and outdoor play.
