To all my Guitar playing friends out there! Shout Out today to my friend Chuck Gray, guitarist extraordinaire, plus guitar builder, luthier, & guitar repair wizard. Recently I purchased a D’Angelico Premier DC at a garage sale of all places. Beautiful guitar but it had issues from lack of pkay, etc. I took it to Chucks workshop today and he did a fret level/polish, tweaked the pickups, and a general set up. i took a short break from building Tele style guitars for about 2 seconds, long enough to build a flying V like I used to own. I had an Epiphone Popa Chubby V about 20 some years back, that I always thought was pretty cool. They are bringing a lot of money, so I thought I would just buid one, Mine has noiseless P90's, all CTS & Switchcraft stuff, block inlayed neck, & gold hardware. A real rock & roll machine. I call it my "Popa Chucky" It's sold.

I love all different types of Les Pauls, but I think one of my favorites was the early LP Specials with P-90's. Because I had a lot of mahogany, I thought it was time to build one. I prefer a bound neck in which the specials never had, with trap inlays, that they never had either. Installed a super set of ALNICO 5 noiseless P-90's. my classic double ring tuners, a very adjustable wrap-around bridge, & all the rest of the good stuff.
This was my first attempt a doing a sunburst finish, it was fun. I think it turned out fine. I desided to do a satin lacquer clear coat instead of gloss, I love it. A great playing & sounding guitar.
