In 2010, the city vacated the structure, moving it's sole Engine company to a new quarters in the 18th ward.

Come see us today at the Wyomissing July 4th parade. Starts at 10 am.

We will be showing off the 1780s hand engine built by Richard Mason of Philadelphia for the Union Fire Co of Reading (1770-1820) the hand pumper than in 1820 went to the Reading Hose company than in 1848 was sold to private individual in the city that had a iron foundry than found its way to Robesonia Furnace. At some point in time it was stored in a barn and was given to the Bernville Fire Co. who still own it to this day.

Last week was a busy time for the Museum Education Committee. Over 150 students and 50 teachers from the Morgan School, Riverside Elementary and 10th & Green Elementary toured the Museum and participated in our Fire Safety Program.

We were honored to present the John J. Zolomij Scholarship to Jakob Shrem at the Museum last evening. Pictured in the photo is Jakob, brother Kaleb, John’s son Jon Zolomij and wife Caroline Zolomij and Jakob’s mother Katrina and dad Jonathan.
We extend our best wishes to Jakob as he continues his studies at Penn State University with a future career in dentistry.
