Welcome to Bennett Cello Studio! Here's a little bit about our founder, Anne Bennett:

Cellist Anne Bennett has both Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees with Honors in Cello Performance from New England Conservatory of Music. Anne has a great love of teaching. She believes that students learn differently, and she works to find the best way to teach and motivate each student individually.

Anne Bennett’s students have been selected for prestigious ensembles and festivals including Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, New England Conservatory Youth Orchestras, MMEA Junior and Senior Festival Orchestras, Massachusetts All-State Orchestra, Boston Philharmonic Youth Symphony, Eastern Music Festival, and Aspen Music Festival.

Anne teaches at her studio in Reading, MA. Anne’s past teaching experience includes cello faculty at Powers Music School and Community Music Center of Boston. She has coached orchestral sectionals at Tufts University. She has been on faculty at the Wi******er Community Music School (WCMS) where she has taught cello and chamber music. Anne was Chair of the String Department, founder of the chamber music program, and founder of the Summer Chamber Music Festival (SCMF) at WCMS.

Anne has performed solo and chamber music in the Boston area at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, NEC’s Jordan Hall, Longy’s Pickman Hall as well as many other venues. She performed solos and chamber music at the Yellow Barn Music Festival in Putney, Vermont. Performances with larger ensembles include Vermont Symphony, New Hampshire Symphony, and Nashua Symphony.

Anne is a native of California where she won concerto competitions and soloed with both the Sacramento Symphony and the Camellia Symphony orchestras. She came to the East Coast to study cello performance at the New England Conservatory of Music with Laurence Lesser, Yeesun Kim, and David Wells. She studied chamber music with Eugene Lehner, Eric Rosenblith, and members of the Borromeo String Quartet.
