- When our iniative begin in 2012, we set out to decrease teen births by 40% by 2022.

AND …We’re proud to say that recent data from the PA Department of Health shows that the overall decrease of teen births from 2012 to 2023 is 59.3% in Berks County!

We shared this data with at a recent Reading School Board meeting.

Our executive director Carolyn Bazik shared with the Reading Eagle that the decline reflects “more than a decade of education, outreach and support services provided through the organization’s Health Resource Center at Reading High School.”

Education and youth engagement continue to be the hallmark of Berks Teens. We believe our work has a positive impact toward social change and a strengthened community. Despite challenges to funding, we move forward.
