Opportunity House is a nonprofit in Berks County, Pennsylvania providing emergency shelter, affordable childcare and housing in the community.
Welcome to our garden!
The garden is an important part of the SMILE program, where clients learn practical gardening techniques and skills. As they transition out of the shelter, they can apply this knowledge to everyday life, helping them grow their own food, care for plants, and develop greater self-sufficiency. Beyond education, the garden also serves as a space for tranquility, reflection, and peace, providing a calming environment that supports overall well-being.
