Yes, and…

This bag was literally the last thing I bought from Target before the boycott that started in February.

Today, it’s a fitting message as I prepare my set for next week.

Friends,

The Baklava Lady is a vegan, Turkish cafe in Englishtown owned and ran by a woman who is a Muslim immigrant and it is under heavy fire for first creating a watermelon cookie this summer, then posting the below sign last Friday (they’re only open on weekends). They’ve also been getting not too nice calls, which will jam up the lines when they open for business.

I’m asking anyone who has a moment to take a visit to the cafe on Saturday and/or Sunday in support. Don’t be hesitant about the “vegan” part, every single thing she makes or bakes is delicious magic. You don’t even have to buy anything; your support alone will show solidarity against those who think “Free Palestine” is somehow anti-Semitic.
