Experience the power of live, true, first-person storytelling at our next FIREFLY: Stories on Stage! 🎤

đź“… Tuesday, August 18
⏰ Doors Open 6:30 p.m. | Showtime 7 p.m.
📍 Two River Theater

Join us to hear real stories of joy, heartbreak, humor, struggle, and triumph—told by everyday people, on stage, in front of a live audience. No judges. Just community and connection.

We will have three featured storytellers, coming soon, as well as opportunities from the audience to throw your name into a hat to be called up as well. If you’d like to throw your name into the hat, come prepared with a true, five-minute story on the theme of FIRE.

Need help finding your angle? Try one of these prompts—or bring your own interpretation …

🔥 Have you ever started a (literal or figurative) fire?
🔥 Have you ever had to put out a (literal or figurative) fire?
🔥 What’s something that’s been slowly burning inside of you?
🔥 Are you a fire sign who has ever been accused of bringing your fiery energy into a space?
🔥 When was the last time you felt completely fired up?

After the show, mingle in the beautiful Two River Theater lobby with storytellers and fellow guests to connect and enjoy concessions.

Our PWN Teen editorial assistants met for training yesterday and instantly we knew this would be an incredible group of teen interns. ✨✨✨

After doing a little writing and sharing to get to know one another, we jumped into our summer assignments and shared ideas for new projects.

We especially loved how they immediately took initiative, sharing contact information so they can work together through these summer months.

Some will be working on our social media platforms, some more behind the scenes. All will be writing articles for Real Voices Write Now.

Stay tuned to see their hard work!

What is Your Story Really About? 07/06/2026

What's your story really about?

In our latest Imprint post, instructor Mark McDevitt breaks down the difference between recounting your life and making sense of it—drawing on Vivian Gornick's classic distinction between "the situation" and "the story."

From Junot DĂaz's "The Money" to David Sedaris to a humble drop-leaf table passed through generations, Mark shows how the best personal essays use specific events as a lens for something universal.

"It reveals us to ourselves."
