Great parents make great puppies! Here is a progression of my pups creation. His litter was born from AKC Champion parents, temperament, health and DNA tested free of disease and inheritable disorders. That’s the best start you can give your pups! Next, great breeders make great socialized puppies ready to go home to their new families. Finally, great owners make great dogs! Socializing, obediance training, veterinary care, grooming and adventure are all part of this. I’ve been asked about anxiety with these guys. Poodles can have anxiety. Here’s the most important part of this. These guys are a cross between a higher anxiety breed and a very low anxiety breed. They are smart and instictual and have natural protective equaities. They need to understsnd when to be protective so they dont get anxious. Crate training is essential. They must learn early on that when you have to leave they have to be patient and wait for your return. Exercise in many fashions, not just every day walks but dog parks, go to the beach, go to a place by a river, let them experience wildlife, cars and traffic, crowds of people, car rides, children, cats, chickens, all on leash and supervised and positive, no punishment but controlled exposure all in the name of curiosity and fun. They enjoy it and learn to not get anxious but look forward to new things. This is the pup I kept and most of this litter went in to be mobility assistant dogs for disabled veterans! Proper breeding, proper raising made this a success :)

This is Karuk. It means tough as a bears growl. He is a 50% half and half Great Pyrenees and standard poodle. His parents were chosen for their perfect conformation, outstanding temperaments, DNAd and tested free of disease, including hips, eyes, elbows all genetically correct. Both were of champion bloodlines. This was a specific breeding to produce intelligent dogs that have a born in instinct to be a caretaker. Many of the pups of this litter are now at two yrs old mobility assistant dogs. Karuk is over 110 lbs, can pull a grown man to his feet from the floor, stand strong to prevent his human from falling as he supports his weight, and has the innate ability to sense danger or when his human is sad or in distress. They are also very sensitive and will adapt to all environments. They can become sad when separated but if raised correctly do not have separation anxiety and are not destructive. My Point is this, if this is what you are looking for, or what you want to produce, keep in mind that these pups are the result of perfect breeding! If the parents are not of this quality and are not purebreds, it’s like playing poker. One or two pups will inherit the best of both, a Cpl pups may be mostly as expected and a cpl other will inherit an unknown mix of whatever their parents carry! Coats, temperament, anxiety, as many standards have high anxiety, and if not a true representative of the breed, you can get a poor quality dog with many physical issues as well. There are so many aspects to breeding and the state of California is one of five states that are in crisis as far as purebred and designer type dogs being euthanized at alarming rates! Please breed wisely and if buying a puppy, do your homework! Look at champion purebred Pyrenees and poodles, study their conformation, coat types and temperaments and compare to the parents of the puppy’s your considering. If the Pyrenees is a ranch bred dog, they are often chosen more for a more aggressive temperament because they don’t live with people they are being bred to attack and drive away or kill other canines and wild cats so your pup from those dogs will inherit those traits. Hundreds of so called white fluffy dogs sold as Great Pyrenees in this state are at best half! Many are now dog aggressive, kill cats and do not have the true temperament of the Pyrenees so are ending up in shelters all through this state in alarming numbers.

Months old now. His new hairdo! Before and after! I love the long look, but those adorable expressive eyes needed to be seen. Pyrdoodles are smart but sensitive, require a firm but soft and patient hand and lots of human attention! Your pyrdoodle will love you! It will be your best friend, be goofy and lovable, but yet protect you from anything!
