In 1998, researchers at Princeton’s PEAR Lab (Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research)
expanded their groundbreaking work into the Global Consciousness Project
(also known as the EGG Project).

They created a global network of Random Event Generators (REGs) — sophisticated electronic devices that produce truly random sequences of 1s and 0s, like digital coin flips based on quantum-level noise. These devices were placed at dozens of locations around the world (65–70 sites).

What They Discovered.
When a large number of people experience shared emotions or focused attention — during major global events like celebrations, meditations, tragedies, or moments of collective coherence
the random data from these machines would show subtle but statistically significant deviations of pure coherence.

Over years of data, during events that stirred strong collective emotion (think 9/11, New Year’s Eve, major meditations, or natural disasters), the network often displayed non-random patterns. As if the shared field of human consciousness was gently influencing physical reality.

This built on earlier PEAR experiments where individuals using intention could measurably shift the outputs of similar REG devices in controlled settings.
