Red Hook Community Center is providing a One-Day Intro session to gauge community interest in this new program offering:
Have you ever wanted to move like the characters from Avatar the Last Airbender, or other Kungfu inspired anime? If so, this class is for you! We will learn the basics of Gongfu, an ancient Chinese martial art. We will grow our strength, flexibility, coordination and determination through the practice of a variety of movements. We will have fun learning tumbling, punches, kicks, and some simple forms. Through these technical martial skills, this class will help develop our warrior spirit and sense of self respect. Each student will be encouraged to strive for their personal best.
Saturday June 6th from 1-2pm. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
Open to ages 11-17. Wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in. All students will be expected to display respect for themselves and others at all times during the class.
Instructor Charlotte Gibbons is a Hudson Valley based certified instructor of Shen Long Xingyiquan with the North American Tang Shou Tao Association and has been practicing martial arts for over a decade.
