Red Hook Public Library
Serving Red Hook since 1898, Red Hook Public Library is a place of ideas, creativity, and imagination
We’re excited to introduce our new interactive literacy buttons in our children's Library, designed to support early readers and learners of all abilities!
Based on the principles of the Orton-Gillingham approach, a structured, multisensory method especially effective for individuals with dyslexia, these buttons encourage kids to see it, say it, and hear it as they build literacy skills.
Even better? We’ll be switching up the prompts regularly, so there’s always something new to explore and practice. Stop by, give them a try, and let us know what you think!
Thank you to the Ascienzo Family Foundation for sponsoring our early literacy resources!

A big thank you to the 4th graders from Mill Road Elementary School for visiting the Red Hook Public Library today!
Students had the unique opportunity to meet Eli Collins, the very first Red Hook librarian, who traveled all the way from 1898 to 2026 to share the history of the Library and what the Library was like over 125 years ago.
In return, the students helped Mr. Collins learn about modern technology… including what a DVD is. Needless to say, he was astounded.
And of course a big thank you to Mr. Roger!
