The Cost of Freedom

This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who laid down their lives for our earthly freedom. Their selflessness stands as a powerful monument to the greatest love described in Scripture:

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends" (John 15:13).

As Christians, this day carries deep spiritual resonance that mirrors the foundational truth of our faith. Our earthly freedom was bought with the lives of soldiers, just as our eternal freedom was bought with the life of Jesus Christ.

To truly bring this truth home, we must ask ourselves: How are we using the freedom that cost others so much?

• A soldier's sacrifice allows us to worship without fear today.
• Christ's sacrifice frees us from the power of sin and death forever.

We honor both legacies not just by remembering, but by how we live. May we never take either freedom for granted.

This Memorial Day, let us honor our fallen heroes, express deep gratitude for our liberties, and live active, purposeful lives that reflect the ultimate liberty we have in Christ.
