Happy Women's History Month! This month, we will be highlighting women who have changed the course of mental healthcare. Since we are big fans of EMDR at AEI, Francine Shapiro, PhD seems like the natural place to start!

Dr. Shapiro originated and developed eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, better known as EMDR. This psychotherapy has proven immensely effective in treating trauma, and is not practiced in around 30 countries and endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and many other bodies. Thank you, Dr. Shapiro, for your work in mental healthcare and for creating such an effective treatment modality!
