Action Axle Suspension and Brake

Pretty cool old ride we did some differential work on this week.....Can't remember the last time I worked on a rig that came with a production 9" axle?

Don bought this 1981 F150 new and has kept it pretty stock over the years except the early 90s Alpine CD Deck.......I razzed him a little about the digital music player in an analog truck!

A cool project we did earlier this month.......Neil's 2021 Bronco BigBend.

It came to us with the Rough Country 3.5" lift and 35" tires already installed, but it was obvious that only 7 of 10 speeds in the trans were being utilized.

We upgraded the front axle from the little M186 to an M210 with 4.70's and an electric locking differential. This was quite the involved upgrade as the axle shafts and matching driveline had to be replaced at the same time.

The rear axle got 4.70's and a Truetrac differential to match up the front and provide that "Active at all times" traction without the negative handling of a more aggressive clutch style limited slip or mechanical locker.

Neil had already acquired the Ford Performance Procal for a little bump in power, so making those settings for the tires and gears was pretty easy. We also added on the Ford Performance high clearance exhaust by Borla while it was on the lift.

For ease of getting in/out of the lifted rig, we installed Rock Slide Engineering's power steps which extend 12" when the doors are opened.

We also installed the Metal Cloak bumper and Warn Zeon 10S winch supplied with a wireless controller for convenience!

Overall this should get Neil's trail adventures kicked off I would say?
