Here is some information to help you with planning your trip to this year’s Shasta Dam Grand Prix this weekend 4/18-4/19 2026.
Construction is still in process and a detour is still in effect. Please take a look at the photo for reference.
If you are wondering about crossing the dam, nothing to worry about as the guards will be looking for are a valid driver’s license and that your tags are current on your vehicle and trailer/rv. If the tags are not current you will not be allowed to cross in that vehicle. Once they look at your tags they want to have a quick peep inside your trailer or rv and at random some will be subject to a quick search for bombs and or bazookas. This is standard procedure to cross the dam and all are subject to it. Dam crossing is open from 6am to 10pm sharp each day. They do not like for people to stack up in front of the gate so please wait until 6am to approach.
The weather is shaping up to create excellent conditions for Chappie so don’t miss out. Let’s end the spring series properly with the best race of the season.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you this weekend for an epic event.

A little behind the scenes info from our club’s prep for the 2026 That DAM Enduro weekend.
After the crew had fully marked the Family Enduro course, things got a bit interesting. The live video with the beautiful blue skies had been already been posted. We were stoked. It really was stunning.
The crew set out to mark the added sections course Test sections for 3 and 4 for Sunday.
The course grabbed a bit of altitude. Apparently enough altitude to be just within the snow line….ah…🤔🤔🤔🤣🤣. What…who. Snow!?!? No!! This was not on our order form!!!!😂😂
Rick B and Tim R were the first set of tracks pushing through 6”-8” of the white stuff marking the course. Hmmmm. Spicey. Hard core. RDR💪💪💪.
About 6 club members went up and down that section of the course 3-4 times breaking through the snow a a bit of ice getting the tracks down to dirt. That worked!
Saturday was nice and tacky. The rain did come but for far, far longer than forecasted on Sunday. The benefit was the vast majority of snow on the course was melted and there was the added “benefit” of additional mud for a true test of rider and machine.🫣🤔💪🤔😂.
To say the stress level was high for the club is an understatement😂😂😂. By 10:00AM Thursday there was 1”-8” of snow on every part of both day’s courses. By 11:30 Thursday the storm moved on leaving crystal clear blue sky and it began to warm quickly. By 1:00PM we were all smiles. All ahead full💪. That is when the group video was shot and we were solid. Both courses marked and ready to go before lunch on Friday.
Thanks again for racing with us. See you at the Grand Prix in April and the 2027 That DAM Enduro.
Join your local club wherever you live. These events take volunteers/clubs to pull off. Get off the side line. Your off-road hobby will only improve and expand.
