Shasta County Search and Rescue Ground Team

Today the Ground Team joined the Shasta County OES in opening their new facility on Lockheed Dr. There were numerous interesting displays including the Shasta Co Bomb Squad, the evidence/forensic team, Sheriff’s K-9, drone displays, etc. Participating volunteer teams were the Dog Team, Jeep Posse, Mounted Posse, Rescue Dirt Riders, Tracking Team, Communications Team, and the Snowmobile Team! Today! 8.6.2024. *LAR* The Ground Team again practiced repelling with a Rescue 8 and a Descender, setting up a double haul line, descending and acending with a Stokes basket, and a patient. Shasta County Search and Rescue Ground Team would like to wish all our followers a happy, wonderful Thanksgiving! As it is a traditional time for families to venture into the surrounding mountains to cut the annual Christmas Tree, please remember to be safe.

* Don't try and travel off road
in places that may exceed
your vehicle's capabilities
* Have an emergency plan
