Here's a little about Surreyya if you don't already know her!

Surreyya Hada is an internationally recognized dancer, choreographer, and movement educator whose work bridges performance, cultural dance, and somatic movement. Born in Chicago and raised in Texas, she relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1990s and has since become a vibrant force in the region’s dance community.

Rooted in Middle Eastern dance traditions and theatrical storytelling, Surreyya has performed and taught throughout the United States and internationally, including in Iceland, Japan, and across South America. Her work has earned several prestigious ethnic dance awards and recognition within the global bellydance community.

She is the founder and artistic director of the internationally acclaimed Dangerous Beauties Dance Company, known for theatrical productions exploring mythology, history, and powerful female archetypes. She also produces the celebrated Underground Nomads Dance monthly performance series at the Santa Cruz Wharf, a gathering place for world dance artists, musicians, and experimental performers.

Surreyya studied dance at the Isadora Duncan Award-winning City College of San Francisco and earned her BA in Dance/Kinesiology at Saint Mary’s College of Moraga as a LEAP program awardee, where she is completing her MA in Dance.
