Friendship Foundation
We started out with 8 children with special needs and 22 teen volunteers, meeting once per month on a Sunday afternoon in Manhattan Beach.

~ Friendship Club of the Month! ~ 🥳
Friendship Club at Point Vicente Elementary School has gone above and beyond for April’s Autism Acceptance Month! Special Education Teacher and club advisor, Ms. McCurdy, is a champion for Friendship Club and inclusion on campus. Here’s how she teaches students to foster inclusion, belonging, and companionship:
“At Point Vicente, we have an amazing Friendship Club where kindergartners and first graders learn the essential social skills they need to thrive. Together, we learn how to identify our complex emotions and discover effective strategies to calm our bodies during challenging moments.”
“Every session is packed with either fun projects or hands-on activities that make personal growth feel like a celebration. It is truly a place where lasting connections are made and every child’s voice is valued.” – Ms. McCurdy
Thank you, Point Vicente Elementary, for leading the way in inclusion and friendship! 💙🌈
