Didi Project
A group of professional women working to provide educational opportunities for women and children in Nepal.
Our friends and partners in Nepal are doing such a great job to help their own country. They are filling the gap left by the larger aid organizations. We are committed to helping them financially and with moral support. Many of these smaller projects will be essential to bringing the country back on its feet.

Dear Friends of the Didi Project,
Heidi Feldman and Joyce Tapper no sooner got home from Nepal a few weeks ago only to hear about this horrendous earthquake that has affected everyone in Nepal so profoundly. We think that all of our close friends over there are safe, if miserable, sleeping outside in the rain as required due to continuous high level aftershocks.
For others, we are setting up an emergency fund for Friends of the Didi Project through our non-profit, the Didi Project (www.didiproject.org) in partnership with the Ama Foundation in San Francisco. They will see to it that the funds are immediately sent to provide needy villagers with food, medical aid (i.e. transportation to medical facilities when possible), some basic construction materials, and water purification kits from Ama Ghar, their wonderful children's home in the Kathmandu suburb of Godavari. Our dear friend, Bonnie Ellison, the Country Director, is in charge. She emailed us that they maintain a one-month basic food supply for residents and staff but their many neighbors do not! Nor do many in other villages nearby. Our daughter and all the other 40 young people who live there are safe and the building is sound.
We have been Ama Ghar sponsors for many years and value their excellent judgment.
