We wish a big congratulations and thank you to Sheri Jorgensen upon her three-year work anniversary here at Step 1 on May 30th! Sheri fills a very important role as our Medical Billing Specialist. She continuously communicates with insurance providers to handle clients’ billing needs and is dedicated to ensuring our clients are properly covered to ensure their stay with us is secure. Thank you, Sheri, for your years of dedication and service to Step 1! We look forward to many more years of working with you!

It’s National Volunteer Week, so we wanted to give thanks to our AMAZING volunteer Board of Directors! They (along with their families) give countless hours to make Nevada Hands & Voices what it is, and we couldn’t do what we do without them! Step 1, Inc. is proud to share that we’ve received an $8,184 grant from Food Bank of Northern Nevada through their Partner Agency Capacity Building Initiative! 🙌

This funding allowed us to replace aging refrigeration equipment with a new freezer and client refrigerator ensuring safe, reliable storage for perishable food and helping us avoid the risk of losing vital supplies. As much of our food comes from FBNN, dependable equipment is essential to continuing to serve healthy, nutritious meals to our clients.

We recently welcomed FBNN Strategic Gifts Advisor Connor Bush and donor Thomas Bottom for a tour, where we highlighted the impact of this partnership and showcased our new equipment.

We’re grateful for FBNN’s ongoing support in strengthening our ability to serve our community!
