Something exciting to tell you about in the latest church update e-mail from PB:

NWLife Family,

Eeeeek! We’re tumbling toward Summer and errthing is about to start poppin.

This weekend starts with a complete change-up of how we regularly come together for a Sunday at NWLife…

Our usual services at 9:30 and 11:00am aren’t happening. Instead, we will be having a quick, casual, worship and Word time together at 12:30pm – followed by us all rolling up our sleeves and working side by side as we serve our community. We call it Church-in-Action Sunday.

And here’s what we’re doing to serve our community: hosting the annual Kicks-4-Kidz event where we will be providing new Nike tennis shoes for over 100 local school kids in need. If this doesn’t sound like the Jesus Way, I don’t know what is.

Make plans to be here this Sunday from 12:30pm on through the early afternoon. Dress easy and casual – and bring your smile. This is the good stuff…

Last Sunday was Mother’s Day – a sweet one at NWLife. If you missed being here, the service is now available online: www.nwlife.church

It helps to have good shoes when Runnin’ on Love,

Pastor Brian

“Prisoners pen scriptures, wh**es and heroes and every face resembles holiness. The feet of peasants are washed by the king and law bows down to love. Outsiders are insiders and the door is not open but torn clean from its hinges. This is the house that God built.” —Lori Hetteen

“I’ve noticed that the older, the more gnarled the cherry tree, the greater the profusions of blossoms. And sometimes the oldest and dustiest bottles hold the most sparkling wine. I’m drawn by faces lined with crow’s feet, those “credentials of humanity,” beautifully lit from within.” —William Sloane Coffin

here's the latest church update e-mail from PB:

NWLife Family,

It’s that time of year where everything starts getting busy and squished into the last so many days of the academic school year – until, at last… it’s Summer. But it’s not, not yet anyway. Right now it’s just squished and busy.

This coming Sunday is Mother’s Day. We’ll be doing what we can to make moms feel loved and special at church with a continental breakfast and open-air photobooth with on-demand printing, and an Eastertide message followed by communion. Here’s the point: come with your mom to church -or- let your mom bring you to church. Services are at 9:30 and 11:00am.

Last week, I shared the 2026 update to my sermon “Time for Thomas.” If you were unable to be with us in person, the service is now online: www.nwlife.church

The fundraising has been doing well for our upcoming Kicks-4-Kidz event. The “Kicks” table will be in the auditorium again this Sunday – if you’d like to help kids in our own community. Giving for the event is also available online: www.nwlife.church/give

Mother’s Day, then Kicks-4-Kidz, and then… oh my, we tip into the Summer schedule. More on that later…

Still Runnin’ on Love,

Pastor Brian

“We cannot love God unless we love each other, and to love we must know each other. We know Him in the breaking of bread, and we know each other in the breaking of bread, and we are not alone anymore. Heaven is a banquet and life is a banquet, too, even with a crust, where there is companionship.” —Dorothy Day

Here's the Holy Week church update e-mail from PB:

NWLife Family,

It is the final day of March, and tomorrow is April. It’s Holy Week – when we remember the journey which brings us to Easter… Jesus carried the cross and bore in his own body our sin, sorrow, and shame. I pray you will have some little windows of time to pause, remember, and be thankful for the life of joy and freedom we have been so freely given.

Easter is the celebration of Jesus’ victory over death, hell, and the whole failed system of picking ourselves up by our bootstraps. Easter is grace and surprise and delight all wrapped up for us to stumble upon, early Sunday morning.

Yeah, Easter Sunday will be sunlit and glorious! Gospel music, Krispy Kreme donuts, family and friends photo spot, kid’s classes, nursery, communion, an Easter celebration message… it’s happening at 9:30 and 11:00am right here, Sunday, April 5.

Be sure to invite some friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, and sports parents to join you for Easter Sunday at NWLife!

It is also time for Spring Life Groups. Our catalog is out now – have a look at the groups and sign up for information on groups you’re interested in. You can see all the groups and request info here: www.nwlife.church/connect

I’m sticking with love,

Pastor Brian

“The Kingdom of God doesn’t come by winning and it isn’t found in the halls of power. It comes by death and resurrection, and it’s found at the communion table.” —B. Zahnd
