Regence and MultiCare came to an agreement that prioritizes the health of our community while remaining economically sustainable. Our teams worked tirelessly and engaged in difficult conversations throughout this negotiation to regain access to cost-effective care for our members with MultiCare providers.

When a Regence member went to the ER multiple times for chest pains and cardiac testing found nothing wrong, Behavioral Health Care Manager Amy Beitia was able to see what tests couldn’t. She uncovered the real cause of the member’s pain: panic attacks triggered by PTSD.

Beitia connected the member to trauma-focused therapy and a virtual cardiac specialist. The chest pains went away. Healthcare costs went down. And the member reported feeling better than they had in years.
