"Do you think all sections of the community are represented equally on the internet? History has not represented everybody equally. If we give that data to the model, it will say there is a higher probability of a man being a scientist than a woman."

The problem is not the algorithm. The problem is what it learned from.

→ The internet reflects historical inequality

→ Underrepresented communities = underrepresented data

Models trained on that data make biased predictions → Those predictions shape real decisions hiring, healthcare, finance

This is not a technical problem. It is a representation problem. And it starts long before the model is built.
