Happy Anniversary, Austin! We thought this would be the perfect time to get his perspective on what it’s like working at Pixl Production:

“I am the Video Production Specialist! I work with many different aspects of video production from shooting all the way through editing. I also work with our virtual events creation and deployment. I love the vast amount of different projects and events that we take on but I really enjoy getting to shoot on location and managing very large events with so many different technical components. I have always had a good eye for detail, but working on and producing graphics and content for our clients has allowed me to step up my production skills to deliver an even better product!

But my favorite part of working here is teaming up with the other great folks at Pixl! We make a great team, working together on several different types of projects at once, and I think the culture at Pixl is very important!"

Back to CKO — this time without wildfires.

It’s always a privilege partnering with our friends at Blend, and this year they brought us back once again for their annual Company & Sales Kickoff.

CKO was held at the Westlake Village Inn — a cozy, resort-style venue with short walks, great views, and an intimate feel. The challenge? Fitting 120+ attendees into a smaller room without it feeling cramped… while still supporting a visually heavy show packed with demos, detailed decks, videos, and virtual presenters.

A custom-built stage and backdrop helped anchor the room, and four 70” displays ensured every quadrant had a clear sightline. The result:
👉 intimate, not small
👉 immersive, not overwhelming

Small room. Big expectations. Zero compromises.

Every decision in this space revolved around flexibility and clarity—for both the audience and the presenters.

The four large displays allowed us to dynamically route content where it made the most sense: slides, demos, video, Slido, or virtual speakers. This let us adapt in real time as the show evolved.

Downstage monitors were customized per presenter—some wanted slides and notes, others notes plus live demos, and for panels with virtual speakers we brought their camera feeds front and center so conversations felt natural and connected.

The goal was simple:
👉Make every speaker feel supported.
👉Make every attendee feel engaged.

This is where the magic (and math) happens.

Behind the scenes in video village, the signal flow was carefully designed to support a lot of moving pieces:

Signal sources included:
• Primary + backup slide decks
• Dedicated video playback
• Animated lower thirds
• Live documents for notes & audience questions
• Slido for interactivity
• Multiple virtual presenters (each with their own pinned cameras & content)
• Zoom Webinar for the virtual audience

Signal outputs were split three ways:
• Audience displays — controlling exactly what the room sees
• Webinar stream — mixing in-room cameras with virtual presenters
• Downstage monitors — fully customized per speaker

It was complex, but intentional. Every source and output was planned to give the client maximum flexibility without risking the show.

We measure success by smiles—and this one delivered plenty. 😄

Here at Pixl, we treasure Memorial day as a moment to pause, remember, and honor the brave members of our nation’s Armed Services who gave everything in service of our country. We’re proud to share a few reflections from our own team about what this day means to us - and the gratitude we carry for those who came before.

Belated congratulations to David Hamilton for winning the first-ever Pixl March Madness Pool and taking home the most hilariously intense trophy ever created! His strategy was to pick the top seed in every game, and while he didn't pick the champion, it worked out so well for him that he had already won before the final was even played.
