A wonderful specimen from Franklin, New Jersey, one of the top fluorescent mineral localities on Earth. This small cabinet-sized good-sized example of soft pinkish colored Hardystonite that has a distinctive violet fluorescence under both SW and LW UV light, along with Calcite that shows a bright pinkish-red hue under SW UV light, along with streaks of Willemite that glows with a brilliant green color under SW UV light. All three minerals can be seen on multiple sides of the piece, creating a desirable multi-color fluorescence. Hardystonite is a one of the more desirable fluorescent rarities from Franklin, and sought after by collectors as its a good as it gets for the species in terms of quality from the area. From the collection of Robert (“Bob”) W. Werner (1937-2023) of Pioche, Nevada ( ).
