Born and raised here in Richmond, Lucy Dacus is a hometown favorite.
Following her Friday Cheers concert, Dacus would form the indie band boygenius with artists Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker.
In 2024 Boygenius would receive 7 Grammy nominations, winning the Grammy Awards for

As a solo artist, Dacus returned to play Friday Cheers in 2019. Since then, she has opened for Billie Eilish's "Hit Me Hard and Soft" tour and performed at popular music festivals such as All Things Go and Glastonbury.
Dacus is currently on her international "Forever is a Feeling" Tour for her fourth studio album.
With taking a pause during construction of the Brown’s Island Improvement Plan, and our sights set on the 2027 season, we’re looking back at the shows that helped shape Friday Cheers through the years ✨

Natalie Prass is a singer- songwriter from Virginia Beach. After starting her music career as a keyboardist for Jenny Lewis, she released her own debut studio album in 2015 with Spacebomb records here in Richmond. The album was recognized as one of the Best New Albums by Pitchfork.
