Biocrim:
After searching for LED under cabinet lighting for a while, I stumbled across this product here on Amazon. I'd been to Lowes and a single 18" LED light bar was around $50, which is outrageous. After doing some measuring I found this 15 light bar kit was perfect for my application. More importantly, it was warm white 3000K light. I can't stand the 6500K cool white as it is too blue for my taste, though it is an option from this company.
Installation does take some planning, but is not difficult. I chose to mount mine at a 45 degree angle under the front edge of my cabinets. This requires ripping some ½ inch, 45 degree angle strips of wood. No big deal if you have a table saw. Installation took about 5 hours, but I really took my time to not mess up my brand new cabinets. Also, I managed to completely hide all of the wires, including the plug to the 120 outlet. The installation is totally clean.
My #1 concern with this type of LED lighting is brightness and is what caused me to pause when considering different products. After completing my installation today I have no complaints about the brightness. It is well balanced with my regular kitchen lighting. I'd say it is perfect and the light's color is natural. The quality of the lights themselves is excellent and comparable to the previously mentioned $50 Lowes unit. The wiring provided is of very high quality and fairly thick, which can pose some challenges for installation. The power source is basically a Samsung laptop power supply, which is pretty beefy for this application.
I have two comments about the company... first is they promptly responded to an e-mail request about obtaining an extra 12' cable. They threw it in the box for free. The second is about shipping. Apparently they are close to my house because on the day I ordered the kit, it appeared on my doorstep a few hours later. This was followed by an e-mail notifying me of delivery, complete with an attached photograph showing the box on my front doorstep. How cool is that?
Since I made this purchase at $211.99, it looks like the price has increased to $290. Once you start shopping for this type of lighting, you will quickly see that even at $290, it is an unbeatable deal.
