With the help of an army of volunteers, sponsors, and friends, the Cannon Ridge Chapter of the DAR together with the Gold’s Dragoons honored our Patriots and veterans at The Remembrance Ball. The Deputy Consul General to the British Consul General in NY and an Assistant Military Advisor for the UK Mission to the United Nations joined us at the ball following The Remembrance Parade earlier in the day where we laid wreaths for US as well as British war dead who perished at the Battle of Ridgefield. Speakers from West Point, the Ridgefield Historical Society and Sierra Delta made history and the lasting impact of war come alive. The dinner and drinks were delicious and we had to *shoo* everyone out of the beautiful Lounsbury House because no one wanted the magic night to end. Thank you to everyone who made this night such a success. We are so excited to share our bounty with the community in the areas of education, historic preservation, and patriotism! Luis-you are the most heroic and epic service dog ever! - That smile…

The Remembrance Parade on Saturday April 25th at Noon is ON.
Ironically, the chilly weather with a hint of mist predicted for noon tomorrow, April 25th, is the same weather the British encountered when they landed at Compo beach on April 25, 1777, to begin their march to burn Danbury. All are welcome to attend the Parade which will end in Ballard Park with a wreath laying ceremony to honor the fallen at the Battle of Ridgefield.
After the Parade, please check out The Remembrance Ball silent auction, please take a look at the wonderful items available.
