July 14, 2026 is Cow Appreciation Day at participating Chick-Fil-A restaurants.

This has been a family tradition of ours for years.

Today the plumbers fixed the washing machine drain under the kitchen floor. Now we can wash clothes at home again rather than going to the coin operated laundry.

I’m looking forward to a new kitchen floor. I’ve been wanting one for years. This ceramic tile was a mistake: it broke the top finish every time somebody dropped a knife or anything heavier than a knife.

The concrete is poured and has to dry before we can do anything with the flooring. Maybe we can start the demolition? Or maybe we will wait until this dries.
