The DRUM TECH

Got a vintage Rogers kit in the shop to be refurbed and “studioized”.
Drums are stripped of all hardware.
Bearing edges recut to factory specs.
Somewhere along the line someone thought it would be better to recut the outer edge to 60 degrees. Not good. This “ mod” moved the apex of the edge to the 4th ply rather than the 2nd. Time on the sanding table put the apex back to stock location and leveled the edge.
Shells polished.
All lugs loaded with cotton balls (no spring noise. Mics can hear that).

The hardware on this kit is pristine. A little elbow grease and lugs and hoops look like new.

Beck project completed. Ready to groove.
