Candidates jump into the pool aboard Camp Barrett where The Basic School is located. After Candidates become Commissioned Officers in the Marine Corps, they will head over to The Basic School. TBS is an all encompassing school required for all Marine Corps Officers. Marine Officers will be trained to become provisional rifle platoon commanders. TBS builds off of the foundation that was start at Officer Candidate School, but preparation starts now.
