Riverside is turning a page on the history of the Mission Inn Hotel….

BREAKING NEWS - Riverside: Historic Mission Inn Hotel & Spa Sold To Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation

According to the The Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, they are welcoming the planned sale of the The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa from Kelly Roberts and the late Duane R. Roberts to the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, owners and operators of Yaamava’ Resort & Casino.

Chamber officials say the tribe brings extensive experience managing high-profile hospitality properties, including the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach and Palms Casino Resort. They noted the tribe’s approach emphasizes long-term stewardship, cultural respect, and investment in surrounding communities.

At the same time, the Chamber recognized the decades-long leadership of the Roberts family in restoring and preserving the historic Mission Inn. Under their ownership, the property became a centerpiece of downtown Riverside, helping drive tourism, economic development, and renewed investment in the area.

“The Mission Inn is central to Riverside’s identity and economic vitality,” said Stephanie Standerfer, chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. “We are grateful to the Roberts family for their vision and care, and we look forward to the next chapter under new ownership.”

According to a release from the chamber, chamber President and CEO Nicholas Adcock said the organization plans to continue partnering with the new ownership on major events hosted at the hotel, including the monthly Good Morning Riverside program and the annual Festival of Lights.

The Festival of Lights, held each year at the Mission Inn, draws hundreds of thousands of visitors to downtown Riverside and is considered a major driver of local tourism and economic activity, benefiting hotels, restaurants, retailers, and small businesses.

Chamber officials said they remain committed to supporting a vibrant downtown and look forward to working with the tribe to ensure the continued success of the Mission Inn and its long-standing traditions.
