How you ever wondered how to get your glass and mirrors clean WITHOUT streaks?
We've got you! Here are some of the best methods for cleaning glass and mirrors to leave them streak-free and sparkling:
🎯 1. Vinegar and Water Solution
Ingredients: Mix equal parts distilled white vinegar and water.
Method: Spray the solution directly onto the glass or mirror, then wipe it down with a microfiber cloth or paper towel in a circular motion. Finish by wiping vertically or horizontally for a streak-free shine.
Why It Works: Vinegar cuts through grime and mineral deposits without leaving residue.
🎯 2. Microfiber Cloths
Method: Dampen a microfiber cloth with water and wipe the surface clean. Use a dry microfiber cloth afterward to remove any streaks.
Why It Works: Microfiber cloths are lint-free and absorb dirt and water efficiently without scratching the surface.
🎯 3. Rubbing Alcohol and Water
Ingredients: Mix 1 part rubbing alcohol to 4 parts water and a few drops of dish soap.
Method: Spray the mixture onto the glass or mirror, then use a microfiber cloth or a squeegee to wipe away dirt and grime. Buff with a dry cloth if necessary.
Why It Works: Rubbing alcohol evaporates quickly, reducing the chance of streaks and leaving a clear finish.
🎯 4. Ammonia-Free Glass Cleaner
Method: Use an ammonia-free commercial glass cleaner and apply it using a microfiber cloth or lint-free paper towel.
Why It Works: Ammonia can cause streaks, especially on mirrors, and an ammonia-free cleaner leaves a clearer finish.
🎯 5. Squeegee
Method: Spray the cleaner (vinegar solution or glass cleaner) onto the surface and use a squeegee to clean the glass or mirror from top to bottom. Wipe the blade after each stroke to avoid transferring dirt back onto the surface.
Why It Works: A squeegee ensures even coverage and removal of cleaning products, preventing streaks.
🎯 6. Newspaper
Method: After spraying the cleaner, use crumpled newspaper to wipe the glass or mirror clean.
Why It Works: Newspaper is absorbent, lint-free, and leaves a streak-free finish.
🎯 7. Cornstarch and Water
Ingredients: Mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 1 cup of water.
Method: Spray onto the glass or mirror, then wipe with a microfiber cloth or newspaper.
Why It Works: Cornstarch adds a mild abrasive that helps to scrub off stubborn spots without scratching the glass.
General Tips:
➡️ Avoid Cleaning in Direct Sunlight: The cleaner can dry too quickly in direct sunlight, leaving streaks behind.
➡️ Use a Lint-Free Cloth: Always use microfiber or lint-free cloths to avoid leaving behind fibers on the surface.
➡️ Circular Motion for Tough Spots: If you encounter tough spots, use a circular motion to break up dirt, then wipe in straight lines to finish.
➡️ Using any of these methods will help you achieve a sparkling, streak-free finish on your glass or mirrors!
