Bright colors. Trendy packaging. Candy flavors. Social media hype.

Today’s dangerous substances are often marketed to teens in ways that make them look harmless, fun, or even “healthy.” From vaping products to substances like 7-OH, flashy branding is designed to lower defenses and spark curiosity — especially among young people.

But behind the marketing are real risks:
⚠️ Addiction
⚠️ Mental health impacts
⚠️ Impaired brain development
⚠️ Unknown chemical contents
⚠️ Increased risk-taking and dependency

Many teens are being exposed to products that are illegal, unregulated, or far more potent than they realize. Companies and online sellers know that attractive packaging and influencer-style marketing work — and our children are the target audience.

Parents, educators, and communities must stay informed, have honest conversations, and teach young people how marketing manipulates emotions and choices.

Just because something looks modern, colorful, or popular does not mean it is safe.
Awareness is prevention. Conversation is protection.
