Don't Cry For Me by absolutely devastated me this weekend. It only took me three days to read, but I'll be thinking about this one for a long time.
Jacob is dying and wants to make amends with his estranged son Isaac. Isaac is gay and Jacob has never been able to accept his son for who he is. In this epistolary novel, Jacob recounts his life, his family's history and explores the deep shame he's carried throughout his son's life. Don't Cry For Me is a story about regret, loss and generational trauma - if you haven't read it yet, you absolutely must!

January Reads
🌸🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🌸
I'm off to a great start in 2022! Every book I read in January, I loved. And I'm doing fairly well at sticking to my "no rereads" mantra - except for Piranesi, all of these were brand new stories for me! Here's a brief ratings rundown on this month's reading:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Piranesi
The Nightingale
⭐⭐⭐⭐💫
Olga Dies Dreaming
⭐⭐⭐⭐
A Man Called Ove
Savage Love from A to Z
The Magnolia Palace
The Eyes of the Dragon
The Untethered Soul is the kind of book I don't assign a star rating for - it was my final reading assignment for my 200-hour yoga teacher certification. I'm honestly still digesting it, but if you're at all interested in the question "Who am I?", check it out!

I'm *finally* reading The Nightingale and I honestly might not survive it. 🥲
2022 is off to a busy start for me, but I did manage to reorganize my yoga/reading room and add a new book "shelf" - what do you think?!
