This customer came in for a transmission shifting issue on their 2017 Hyundai Tucson. Customer thought they purchased a vehicle with a regular automatic transmission. However, this vehicle is equipped with a Dual Clutch Transmission which essentially is a manual transmission with components that control it automatically. Unfortunately, these types of transmissions aren’t that uncommon and are used across many makes and models.

Generally the clutch assembly of this style transmission lasts around 100,000 miles, and average cost of replacement can be around $2500. On a positive note, we were able replace the clutch for this customer without the need to replace the entire transmission which would have cost much more.
