Thank you to the Southby’s for opening our eyes on a staff nature walk at Ganargua Creek Meadow Preserve (Macedon) last week!

➡️ Swipe for some of the critters and creatures we discovered along the way! This preserve is an excellent spot for seeing butterflies, dragonflies, and wildflowers. Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for even more butterfly activity 🦋

Slide ID’s:
1. A Northern green frog male (indicated by his tympanum being larger than his eye)
2. Papilo cresphontes, or the “bird p**p caterpillar” (named for obvious reasons)
3. A Fritillary
4. A Northern Pearly-Eye
5. A catacola caterpillar, mimicking tree bark
6. Another green frog
7. A male ebony jewelwing dragonfly
8. A bench along the Purple Trail

This weekend is looking to be great weather for exploring the outdoors, and there's lots to see ☀!

Join us and Seneca Park Zoo at Irene Gossin Nature Preserve (Penfield) THIS Saturday for a morning walk (Ecology Exploration) as we discuss the relationships between plants, bugs, and invasive species.
