In Sight Music Lessons
Guitar player since 2005, teaching others the skills needed to be a proficient musician!
03/20/2023
Hey! I wanted to introduce myself here. My name is Evan Morrison, I am 29 years old and have been playing guitar since 2005. I took lessons for about 3 years before playing with other musicians and writing my own music. My guitar teacher, Mr. Ken, made a huge impact on me and was a wonderful man and teacher. I have started offering lessons of my own to teach others how to master their craft and turn their interest into a passion. Music consumes most of my life, whether it's on my speakers, recording on my laptop, learning new songs and techniques, or listening to podcasts from other musicians.
My biggest influences were pop-punk, indie, ambient post-rock, and modern rock. I also love playing the ukulele as well as the acoustic guitar. I have recently enjoyed learning percussion-style acoustic playing.
In 2020 I decided to get a 7-string guitar and started learning progressive metal; quite a leap from playing modern rock and acoustic. I have taken practice techniques from drummers in order to help play at high speeds with fluidity, and the progress has been an amazing feeling.
I took on my first student this year and it has been so fulfilling to go back to my roots and teach others the skills needed to be a proficient musician, and develop a practice routine that works for them.
I teach out of my apartment in Rochester in the evenings, please send me a message if you or anyone you know wants to learn how to play the guitar!
