These clusters of cells develop into a 3D structure that looks and acts like a developing retina – ultimately giving insight to how humans get different color-sensing cells in their eyes. Such research could help accelerate cures to color blindness and lead to new treatments for diseases such as muscular degeneration and glaucoma."
This research will not only help benefit humans with such eye diseases but it will also advance the way in which color scientists understand color perception.

An interesting technological advancement from a local university, Rochester Institute of Technology. "The new technology selects targets from a two-dimensional sky field and deflects light down two distinct pathways—either to an imaging spectrometer or to an imaging array detector."
