The Cub Room

The Cub Room for me will always be the place where my children grew up. Growing up in a restaurant is pretty special, though I didn’t, I witnessed my children do it. They watched their parents work hard every day to give them a happy life, and they were a part of it. They had birthday parties, family celebrations, and days to just cook with their dad. The Cub Room will forever be a sacred place for our family. I wouldn’t change a thing, they went from tots to teenagers and this place was and is so much part of their childhood.

Love was always the secret ingredient. Never have words rang more true of The Cub Room. It’s with a sense of disbelief that we announce The Cub room will be closing. Our last day will be March 2.
It’s been a decade of love, food, laughter, and so many beautiful memories. While, most think we are closing due to opening a new place, that is not true. The intent was always to keep The Cub Room going, but so many forces were against us. Being downtown these past couple years has been a struggle. We’ve watched neighbors and friends businesses in the South Wedge close while still managing to go on, but the environment has become too much for us. We can’t thank our guests enough for always being with us, for enjoying the most wonderful food in the city, and sharing with us these hallowed halls that boast so much beautiful energy. It’s bittersweet, and I don’t think myself or my husband are going to know how not to come here after we have been here every day for over 10 years. We watched our kids grow up here from little tykes to beautiful young women. We ourselves have celebrated so many family milestones, from happiness to sadness, and we’re so grateful to have had such a beautiful place to share.
So I leave you with that, come celebrate with us another month of love, another month of food, another month to make memories in this beautiful place that was our home.

THE BIG SHOW. Well here we are Ol’ Sport, the Biggest night of the year! If you were lucky enough to reserve a seat- the party is here! Now don’t worry, you can still stop by the bar- Bar opens at 7pm. $20 cover to get into bar starts at 8pm where you can enjoy the SWOONERS and count down to midnight with us; the champagne and cocktails will be flowing! Menu is only available to party goers!
